The 2004 Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, A/W collection was a feast of colour and luxury, with obvious nods to the Orient. Tom Fords last Yves Saint Laurent collection came with the usual controversy as his departure marked the end of creative differences with Serge Weinberg. "I was just getting YSL established as a label and I am frustrated that I wasn't allowed to complete the transformation," he complained then delivered a masterful collection inspired by the YSL 1977 Chinese collection featuring pagoda shoulders, pencil-skirt couplings, Cinch-waisted Mao jackets in arrays of purple, green, blue, oyster silk and fur.
For the collector these are important, documented pieces. Photographed on the runway on Liya Kebede and Karen Elson.
Pre-owned in excellent condition. The Green jacket has a pulled thread on the lower part of the jacket
